This gorgeous antique piece was crafted sometime during the Art Nouveau design period (1890-1915). The bangle is 14K gold and features a center Amethyst with a softer lilac hue and saturation. The center Amethyst is surrounded by a halo of 10 natural seed pearls. 8 additional seed pearls are set amongst the sinuous filigree accents along the top half of the bangle. The bangle has a delicate motif as was popular during the Art Nouveau design period which celebrated floral, ethereal, and divine feminine themes. The bangle is over 100 years old and was well loved over the years; the piece shows some dents and dings along the shank. Amethyst was once considered amongst the cardinal gemstones; as rare as diamonds or rubies before large deposits were discovered in the new world. Now Amethyst is considered representative of Aquarius, the 11th astrological sign in the zodiac, as well as February’s birthstone. The bracelet measures for a wrist approximately 7 inches or smaller and features an easy to use push button clasp closure with fixed safety chain.
