This antique cameo ring was made sometime during the early 20th century. The setting is 14K white gold, putting it’s origin sometime after the turn of the century (1915-1940). Cameo jewelry has been in existence for many many years, dating all the way back to ancient civilizations (Greek, Roman, Egyptian). The style has been popular and present ever since; with artisans in Italy still making hand carved cameos to this day. This particular cameo features a handmade 14K white gold filigree setting. The setting features fine hand engravings, milgrain accents, and gorgeous floral filigree. The center cameo is most likely helmet shell; the best cameo material for keeping it’s pinkish brown color over the duration of time. The relief features a graceful woman gazing to the right with a tiny flower resting upon her dress. This ring is currently a size 6 & 1/4.
