This antique piece was skillfully handcrafted sometime during the Art Deco design period (1920-1940). The center diamond is an antique rose cut. A rose cut is similar to an Old Mine cut. This primitive diamond shape was cut by hand and cut to scintillate beautifully in soft candlelight or gas light. A Rose cut is named so because it’s facets are meant to encapsulate the beauty and grace of a gently unfurling rose bud. The contrast within the diamond is not sharp and is not meant to be. Rose cut diamonds also have a shape usually comparable to a modern cushion cut silhouette. The center diamond measures approximately 1.25 carats and grades approximately K in color, VS in clarity. The setting is platinum and features 20 sparkling diamond accents. This antique piece is truly heirloom quality and perfect for anyone in search of a very unique antique cut center diamond. This ring is currently a size 7.
