ANTIQUE ART DECO DIAMOND AND FRENCH CUT SAPPHIRE DINNER RING
This exquisite antique piece was crafted sometime during the Art Deco design period (1920-1940). The platinum filigree setting features an antique Old European cut center diamond measuring approximately 1.60 carats. The diamond grades approximately VS2 in clarity and L in color. The platinum filigree is clean and linear; a favorite motif style of Art Deco design period. The ring features six stunning French cut blue sapphires. During this time period blue sapphires were particularly representative of marital loyalty and fidelity. This piece features pristine milgrain accents throughout. This ring is currently a size 4 & 1/4. Dinner rings are oftentimes considered the elegant precursor to the Depression Era and Mid Century cocktail ring. They were frequently worn on the left pinky finger next to a wedding ring.
