This antique piece was skillfully handcrafted sometime during the Art Deco design period (1920-1940). The 14K white gold setting features 18 sparkling Old European cut diamonds. The diamonds have a total combined diamond weight of approximately 2 carats. The bracelet also features 18 emerald cut and richly hued synthetic rubies. You might be surprised to find synthetic gemstones in an antique piece but flame fusion gemstones were first created in the late 1800’s. Synthetics can be typical in some antique designs. At this time, synthetic gemstones were often preferable because they ensured uniform color and quality; sources of natural gemstones could be rare and unpredictable. Two of the rubies have minor chips; please see photos for reference. The 14K white gold setting features simple milgrain accents throughout. The antique line bracelet is the predecessor of the modern day tennis bracelet and the style remains a jewelry essential to this day. This antique bracelet features an easy to use push button style clasp closure along with hidden safety latch. This diamond and ruby bracelet measures approximately 6 & 1/2 inches in length making it ideal for a smaller than average sized ladies wrist (average being 7 inches).
