This antique diamond ring was handcrafted sometime during the Edwardian design period (1900-1920). The platinum setting features intricate filigree, precise milgrain accents, and beautiful hand engravings. The center diamond is an antique rose cut diamond. Rose cut diamonds originated in the Georgian Era (1714-1830), they are a very unique and somewhat lesser known antique cut. Like the Old Mine cut, rose cut diamonds were cut specifically to scintillate in soft candle light and gas light. The setting features 10 additional accent diamonds throughout the intricate filigree. This piece is currently a size 6 & 3/4.
