This Retro era darling was crafted sometime during the Mid Century design period (1940-1960). The setting is 14K gold and features 19 sparkling diamonds along with fine milgrain and simple filigree gallery. The piece has a total combined diamond weight of approximately 0.50 carats. The Mid Century cocktail ring stems from the prohibition era (1920-1933) tradition of wearing a bold, usually large, and attention getting ring on your dominant hand (or the hand your drink would be held in). Cocktail rings rose to popularity and remained a jewelry essential through the Mid Century. Consequences of prohibition in America are complex and long standing but we sure are thankful for the resulting fad of the bold and dazzling cocktail ring. This vintage piece is currently a size 6 & 3/4.
